United Way is working to advance the common good by focusing on EDUCATION, INCOME and HEALTH. These are the building blocks for a good life – a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement and good health.

PRIORITY AREAS

EDUCATION -  Help children and youth achieve their potential though education...by supporting the learning, development and sense of belonging of children and youth so that they become responsible adults.

Outcomes:
  • Increase children and youth's access to positive developmental opportunities.
  • Increase the percentage of children entering kindergarten to be ready for school
  • Increase availability of after school programs

INCOME - Promote financial stability and independence...to insure basic human needs of food, housing, clothing and safety are met.

Outcomes:
  • Increased access to quality support systems for families and caregivers
  • Increased access to services that promote and teach self sufficiency, independent living, financial management and literacy
  • Insure basic human service needs are met

HEALTH - Improve people's health...through higher levels of positive health.

Outcomes:
  • Improve access of the uninsured and underinsured to physical, mental and dental health services
  • Increase children's early intervention in physical, mental and dental services
  • Reduce substance abuse, child abuse and domestic violence
  • Increase health education and preventative care
