Senior Companion Program
The Senior Companion Program offers seniors,
age 60 or older, an opportunity to serve others in their community who
need assistance with the tasks of daily living. They become friends with
those who are lonely and isolated. Senior Companions may assist with
grocery shopping, appointments to the doctor, errands, going out for
coffee or just playing games or cards. Volunteers are reimbursed
for travel costs, covered by insurance and can receive a small tax-free
stipend.
TeleCare
Phone Caller
Volunteer agrees to call one or more
elderly or disabled individuals to check that they are O.K., call with
medication reminder or just friendly visit on the phone. Visit
can take one minute or more depending on what caller and client agree
upon. Gratifying work.

Help decide how
United Way donations will be distributed. Volunteer to participate on

Chili Feed - Fall 2008
Chili Entrants needed to show
their culinary skills and join in the fun by making two gallons of
chili for taste testing.
Volunteers are needed to sell
tickets, be chili judges or assistants, serve beverages and refill condiments
bowls.
This is a fun way to really make a difference.
Silent Auction Fall 2008
Volunteers will assist with arranging the
donated items on tables before the bidding begins. Help is also needed
afterwards to clear tables.

Coat Drive October 16, 2008 – National Guard Armory
Day prior to event we
need volunteers to help sort coats by size and gender. Day of
event we need volunteers to assist people to find their size and keep
tables sorted and neat. Babysitters are also need to help young
mothers while they search for items for their children.

Provide childcare every other Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:15 p.m. for the
women who attend the Domestic Violence Support Group and on occasion for the
mothers when they have appointments or work conflicts.
Crisis Response Line
Answer phones during the week
(5:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m. the next day) or weekends (Friday staring at 5:00
p.m. until Monday morning at 8:00 a.m.). Provide crisis intervention,
emotional support, information and referrals.

Volunteers needed to help pass
flyers, brochures and informational materials, make phone calls and sell
raffle tickets. Assist with set-up and take down of booths/displays and
answer questions about LECC programs.

A one-to-one friendship
program that matches elementary age youth with adult volunteers to
provide the child with a chance for new experiences and emotional
support. Our Mentorship Program is primarily for children who have
witnessed domestic violence.
